May 17th - Sunday Music Series: Accordion Trio - Auburn Public Theater, 8 Exchange St., Auburn. Karen Axelrod of the internationally-known English country dance band Foxfire and the great old world cafe band Third String Trio. Julie Vallimontof the wildly popular contra dance band Nor'easter. Rachel Bell of the Andrew & Noah band and Montage www.rachelbellmusic.com. The three have just started an all-women THREE accordion band.... And they aren't playing accordions in the traditional sense; it's not going to be all ooom-pah-pah "Lady of Spain" style. They'll be exploring the most beautiful textures and sounds that the instruments are capable of producing, so that they sound together like a pipe organ in one set, like a string quartet in another, like dancing fiddles in another set, and on and on. They'll be playing breath-taking Swedish polskas, dark mysterious French waltzes, lively Quebecois reels, beautiful old English melodies, and more. Tickets $10, 4-6pm. www.auburnpublictheater.org 315-253-6669
