The following is a list of enjoyable events we have found are going on around our town, Auburn, NY. 

Nov. 27th - Dec. 24th - 21st Annual Dickens Christmas in Skaneateles, Skaneateles, NY. An annual tradition, the celebration begins the day after Thanksgiving and runs every Saturday and Sunday through December 24,  from noon to 4 pm. Charles Dickens and his cast of over 50 characters will interact with residents and visitors in the streets, stores and restaurants. Don't miss lively acts at the Library (and Mother Goose too!), live music, unique shopping, wonderful food and horse and wagon rides around the Village. Dec. 2nd - Dec.4th - 22nd Annual Holiday Shopping Spree, Cayuga Lake Wine Trail, 2770 County Road 128 (Ernsberger Rd), Romulus, NY. Experience the holidays and the hustle and bustle of our 22nd Annual Holiday Shopping Spree. You will receive a souvenir wine glass, a grapevine wreath, a recipe collection and an ornament from each of the 16 wineries. You will also receive a Shopper’s Card good at each winery for a discount off your purchase during the event. Travel winery to winery to sample their holiday-inspired dish and sip their fine wines. You'll also leave each winery with a recipe card featuring that dish, and an ornament unique to that location.
Event Hours: Friday 1-5pm, the following wineries are participating: King Ferry, Long Point, Montezuma, Six Mile Creek.
Saturday 10-6pm, ALL 16 wineries are participating.
Sunday 10-5pm, ALL 16 wineries are participating.
On Saturday, you can start at 9am at both King Ferry and Long Point wineries only.
*Note: Thirsty Owl Wine Co. is a new starting point, however, they are NOT participating on Friday. They are an option to help with the flow of traffic throughout the day and the congestion in the middle of the trail. Do not choose them if you plan on starting on Friday!
Tickets: Each ticket is good for the whole weekend, to visit each winery once.
Single tickets are $40 and include: 1 souvenir wine glass, 1 grapevine wreath, 1 set of 16 ornaments, 1 recipe collection and 1 shopper’s card. You will also get 1 wine and food pairing at each winery and up to 3 additional wine tastings per winery. Couple’s tickets are $60 and include: 2 souvenir wine glasses, 1 grapevine wreath, 1 set of 16 ornaments, 1 recipe collection and 1 shopper’s card. Each person will get 1 wine and food pairing at each winery and up to 3 additional wine tastings per winery.
Discounted designated driver tickets are available. The DD gets all the same perks as a regular ticket, minus the wine.  They also get a DD mug, rather than a wine glass. $20 for a single, $30 for a couple. A couple’s DD ticket consists of one person who drinks and one person who does not.
Be sure to buy your tickets early, we have a limited amount available per weekend. Tickets can also be purchased by calling 800-684-5217 and are no longer available at Wegman’s.

Dec. 5th - Dec. 6th - Holiday Open House Corning Museum of Glass, One Museum Way, Corning, NY. Free Admission , craft activities, live music, and special glassmaking experiences kick off the holiday season. Dec. 5th & Dec. 6th - Floating Four Ring Double Wedding Ring, Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center, 205 Genesee St, Auburn, NY. December 5, 9am – Sun, December 6, 5pm. This two day class will focus on making a Four Ring Double Wedding Ring Quilt. Dec. 6th - Pipe Organ Concert, Saint Mary's Church, 15 Clark Street, Auburn NY. 7:30pm – 9:00pm. To celebrate the 125th anniversary of the 1890 Carl Barckhoff Organ (OHS Cited), and also to highlight their 1872 Garrett House Organ (also OHS cited), Saint Mary's Church is hosting FREE pipe organ concerts in Advent. Dec. 12th - All Wrapped Up Wine Dinner, Vineyard Restaurant at Knapp Winery, 2770 County Road 128, Romulus, NY. It’s December so of course presents come to mind. Imagine your dinner full of presents as all dishes will be somehow wrapped up in the likes of puff pastry, phyllo, bacon and en papillote. Dec. 13th - Christmas at The Museum Open House, 6880 East Lake Road, Auburn, NY. All are invited back in time, and back to their childhood. The Museum/Ed Center will be decorated and the tree will be trimmed. There will be horse drawn wagon rides and musical entertainment. Santa will arrive at 12:30 PM on a horse drawn wagon and will talk to children about their Christmas lists. There will be special food and drink available. Come decorate some Christmas cookies, make some Christmas decorations and enter the Christmas contests. Admission and parking is free. Guided tours will be available and the gift shop will be open for unique Christmas gifts. Come join in the fun. Noon - 4PM. Admission: FREE

Dec. 13th - Holiday Traditions, 33 South Street, Auburn, NY. Free and open to the public. Open house of Auburn's Historic and Cultural Sites. Free admission to the Seward House Museum, Willard Memorial Chapel, Schweinfurth Art Center, Ward O'Hara Agricultural Museum, Harriet Tubman Home and more. The magnificent Granger Homestead located in the Finger Lakes, will be sparkling with more than 100 trees, wreaths, tabletop decorations and gift baskets beautifully created by local businesses, organizations and individuals. Nov. 14th - Nov. 15th - Weekend Workshop: Beginning Glassblowing, The Studio at The Corning Museum of Glass, One Museum Way, Corning, NY.  Learn the basics of blowing and manipulating glass in this two-day workshop. We will create simple glass objects, such as colorful paperweights, flowers, free-form sculptures, and vessels. No glassworking experience is required. Nov. 20th - Nov. 22nd - November Deck the Halls Along Seneca Lake Wine Trail2 N Franklin St #320, Watkins Glen, NY 14891. With two of these events taking place on two separate weekends, November 20-22 or December 4-6, 2015, these events are by far our most popular. Go to your chosen starting winery and begin a weekend of fun and festivities while sampling holiday wines and food tastings. The wineries are decorated for the holiday season. Over the 2-1/2 day weekend event, visit the participating wineries, receive a recipe book and collect ornaments to decorate your handmade grapevine wreath. Nov. 22nd - Parlor Music Concert, Seward House Museum, 33 South Street, Auburn, NY. Operatic soprano Rebecca Carr returns to the Seward House Museum for the fourth annual Parlor Music Concert, accompanied by accomplished conductor and collaborative pianist, Richard Montgomery. The magnificent atmosphere of the Seward House Museum Drawing Room and the 1872 Steinway piano will compliment Carr's voice, which is characterized as a "big, vibrant soprano" that brings "touching" and "remarkable" portrayals to the roles she performs, in a dramatic and engaging program of well-known and most beloved operatic and operetta arias.
